She received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree magna laude in Labor Relations and an Associate Degree in International Politics from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. While at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, she was a member of the Law Review. She was also president of the class of 1990 and in the summer of 1988 participated in the law program at St. Edmund Hall College, University of Oxford in England, sponsored by the University of Florida College of Law. While studying Labor Relations, she interned at the National Labor Relations Board, Region 24 and participated in an exchange program at Queens College, University of Cambridge, England. She belonged to the Honors Program of the University of Puerto Rico. Languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Ms. Da Silveira Neves began her practice at the Law Firm of Lespier & Muñoz Noya in 1991. She has primarily focused on representing employers in relation to labor and employment matters, including wrongful termination, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, workplace harassment, affirmative action programs, doping programs, employee handbooks, among others. As well as wage and hours claims and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board such as union campaigns, collective bargaining, charges of unlawful practice. Her practice also includes representing clients in arbitration, mediation and administrative proceedings.
As part of her practice, she offers training workshops to supervisors and employees, and in different organizations on labor and employment law. In this sense, she has extensive experience litigating labor law matters, as well as general civil law before the Courts of Puerto Rico, the Federal Court for the District of Puerto Rico, as well as before the Federal Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In addition, she is admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. Between 2000 and 20023, Ms. Da Silveira Neves also served as In-House General Counsel of the Ferré Rangel Group. She has held several positions at the Puerto Rico Association of Labor Relations Practitioners and has served as co-chair of the Labor Law Committee of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Reasonable Employment Standards. In 2008 she joined our legal team as Of Counsel since then she has been part of the legal-labor division of our office. In March 2023, she was named Honorary Consul of Portugal in Puerto Rico, in addition to continuing to provide excellent legal services to our clients.
